Data Protection and Privacy

Our office offers a wide range of data protection and privacy related advice to various international and local clients. As a result of the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (GDPR), we have assisted our clients in the development of their data protection compliance process as well as to deal with day-to-day data protection related issues stemming from the application of the GDPR.

In the context of our work in relation to data protection compliance, we have prepared internal privacy policies, privacy notices and ancillary documentation for a number of clients. One of the most significant data processing activities of most of our clients is linked to human resources; thus, our data protection team is closely connected to our employment team so that HR related data protection issues can be resolved in the most efficient manner to our clients’ satisfaction.

One of the hottest topics in data protection law, particularly considering the short response time available to comply with the GDPR, is managing personal data breaches including the notification of the data subjects concerned and the data protection supervisory authority. We have a specialist team that can deal with such time sensitive issues.

International clients also seek advice in relation to data transfers within and outside the European Economic Area. In addition to highlighting the potential scenarios, we follow a practical approach and offer solutions that best serve our clients’ structures and goals in accordance with the applicable laws.
